Jake's Story

Looking at 8-year-old Jake Grokowsky today, you would never guess what the happy, active Holmen, WI, youngster has been through. Just nine days after being born, he stopped breathing and doctors in La Crosse, WI found he had multiple congenital heart defects. He was flown to Rochester, MN, and the very next day he had his first open-heart surgery.
